The main tasks of the department are:

organization of vocational guidance for students of general secondary schools (hereinafter referred to as secondary schools) in the public education system;

coordinate the work of educating people who think independently, have organizational skills and a broad understanding of entrepreneurship, have developed practical professional skills;

Supervise the work of 9th grade graduates to continue their education in the 10th grade or vocational schools, to help them choose a career;

Monitors the implementation of state requirements and the implementation of curricula for the orientation of 9th grade graduates to vocational schools or their continuation in grades 10-11, to determine the prospects for the development of the educational process on the basis of analysis;

Assists and cooperates in the development and continuous improvement of state requirements, curricula and programs of vocational education by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education;

Participate in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education and relevant ministries and agencies in creating a new generation of teaching and learning manuals in vocational education;

Participate in ensuring the continuity and consistency of education, the integral connection of curricula with vocational education curricula;

develop and conduct a survey, taking into account the motivation, interests and needs of secondary school students to learn;

to determine the aptitudes and interests of secondary school graduates in the profession and to organize professional counseling for students, parents and teachers accordingly.

Coordination of improving the quality of education and vocational training through the widespread introduction of modern and innovative pedagogical methods and information and communication technologies in the process of education and vocational training;

to help students to develop the skills of work and independent creative thinking, to consciously choose the path of vocational guidance, education and continuation of vocational training, and to choose the direction of vocational education;

achievements in career guidance in the general secondary education system, the organization of work on the study, dissemination and promotion of best practices;

organization of the process of short-term training of specialists in the implementation of vocational guidance and "Preparation for Life" programs for secondary school students, as well as the establishment of profile classes, taking into account the development of the region;

formation of a healthy, strong and effective motivation of students to study and the creation of a bank of age tests for career choice, independent planning of professional growth, acquisition of modern professions;

organization of vocational training of students in secondary schools and development of methodological recommendations;

Coordination and control of the Republican Center for Vocational Education and the Republican Center for Vocational Orientation and Psychological and Pedagogical Diagnosis;

Carrying out the activities of the department in cooperation with all departments and divisions of the Ministry, the republican organizations under its jurisdiction, the territorial administration of public education and other governmental and non-governmental organizations.
