The main tasks of the Institute are:

scientific and methodological support of the public education system, conducting fundamental, applied and innovative research, wide implementation of research results in practice;

implementation of research programs and projects on a systematic basis on topical issues of general secondary education, organization of scientific, scientific-practical conferences, seminars, meetings;

training of highly qualified personnel in doctoral and master's specialties, continuous professional development of researchers, retraining of public educators, advanced training of managers and methodologists;

study of best practices in the field of general secondary education and development of recommendations for their introduction in our country, development of international relations with leading research institutions of foreign countries;

participation in the development, testing and examination of new technologies, tools and forms of organization of general secondary education;

development and continuous development of professional standards of public educators on the basis of creating a model of the school of the future, its leader and teacher, strengthening the links of research activities with the educational process;

development of model curricula, programs, teaching and methodological and other documents for non-governmental educational organizations engaged in the training of public educators, as well as assistance in the constant updating of educational and methodological support of courses;

Operation of a special electronic platform "Continuing Vocational Education", retraining in conjunction with training organizations and ensuring the centralized development of the content of training modules of training courses and their inclusion in the platform.
